MARK YOUR CALENDARS: OUTREACH EVENTS IN 2011!

• US Senate Chaplain Barry Black will be coming to share (Author: FROM THE HOOD TO THE HILL & THE BLESSING OF ADVERSITY) on Saturday night, May 7, at Emmanuel Christian Academy, 6:30 p.m.  Tables are $600 (seating and individual tickets are now on sale.  Chaplain Black is a needed voice in a critical time in our country w/ politics at the height of polarization and wise decisions needed now more than ever.  CBS News calls him “The First Preacher”  (http://tinyurl.com/3q4tgrp).  He is the first African-American Senate Chaplain, and previously US Naval Chaplain. • A new initiative of the Gathering, “The Gathering @ CCN,” starts Thursday, April 28th, at Country Club of the North.  This will be a monthly lunch featuring a speaker and a brief time of table sharing and meeting new folks. This is a great partnership between The Gathering, Cedarville University and Country Club of the North. Doug Harris, Dayton Daily News beat writer for UD basketball, will speak at our first lunch.  Harris played basketball for Don Donoher, during the Jim Paxson era and was previously the Area Director for Young Life in Springfield, OH from 1989 to 1996.
