One Man’s Decisions & Life Influence Many
In my one-year Bible reading plan with some friends, I’ve been in Romans.
A familiar book to many Bible-reading Christians. One verse the other day hit me harder than it has before.
I was reading in Romans 5, and stumbled across verse 19 – “Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.”
Adam disobeyed by partaking of an apple and many (actually all) have followed his lead. Nakedness was then an issue, alienation from God and self took place. We’ve never been the same since.
Jesus, humbling Himself to the point of death, obeyed – at all costs – His father and offers redemption for all.
Every decision counts. Nothing is a throw-away. My boys and daughter, Leah, are blessed or potentially set back by my obedience to God, or lack thereof.
I’m not living for self, even when I desire that.
Little eyes are a-l-w-a-y-s watching, so are peers or folks in our communities.
I want my life summed up in one word. Obedience. Simple obedience to a loving God who desires more and better for me, than I do myself.
Whose man will you be today? Your own or God’s?
